So who am I...

I was born in Miami, Florida one September day many years ago. I grew up in Miami Springs, FL and graduated from Miami Springs Senior High School.

I attended the University of South Florida and received a B.A. in Zoology from the College of Natural Sciences.

I then went to graduate school at the University of South Florida, College of Medicine. I earned a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences with a major in Physiology and a minor in Pharmacology.

I took post-doctoral training at the University of Florida, College of Medicine, Department of Physiology.

I moved to Philadelphia in 1983 to take a research position at Graduate Hospital and an adjunct assistant professor position at the University of Pennsylvania, College of Medicine, Department of Physiology.

During graduate school I married W. Gerald (Jerry) Jackson. He is the brother of my first college roommate. Jerry earned a B.A. in Finance and was working toward a B.S. in Biology at the University of South Florida at the time of our marriage. Jerry received the B.S. in Biology and started dental school at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.

In 1984 our first child was born.
